2 free vsts for remixing you should check out now

Remix tips from Bertsbeats

I wanted to give you some tips for your remixing or your live sets.
You know ive been doing remixes and mashups for a while now and wanted to share with you two free vsts that would be great in any edm remix.

The first one is Glitch where it basically transforms your audio files into mindless  and endless possibilities with a a bunch of effects and a step sequencer to basically randomize when the effects hit youd be surprised of the results and the possibilites are endless what you can come up with and how you can transform and mangle your audio files in a mix  or live performance or in the studio. I made a short example of it here on my youtube channel so have a look and don’t forget to subscribe to the blog and the youtube channel so you will get edm updates as they happen.

Glitch is one of my favorite effects to go to when I am doing a remix and need something crazy or unique sounding check out the video.

Blue Arp

My second example is blue arp its free like Glitch and free can be useful and good at times so don’t discount it because its free. Why blue arp its useful and great because ,it makes any synth a arpeggiator for creating those rhythmic grooves and sequences for your remix whether it be in intro or during the mix or during chorus or where ever you need to spice up your mix.

I have used it many times its most useful for when songs need a groove or lack a arpeggiator .Most of the time I will draw in my arps but  sometimes you want something to groove to the arps you just wrote in. Blue Arp is most useful for techno or trance music or deep house.

In my example below I just added it to a simple drum loop to give you an example so have a look at the video and let me know what you think and keep the conversation going in the comments section. Tell me what you use to create grooves?

How to speed up your hip hop beatmaking workflow when you have no time to make beats

We all been there, we have a idea in our head of some beat we want to cook up, then the unthinkable happens. We run into our ex at the bank, the supermarket or Wendys drive thru then the two of you start talking for hours. Or better yet, your kid gets sick at school the nurse sends him home, your dog has an appointment at the vet. You need to help your son study for a math test...As soon as you walk into the studio your girl calls you up, and silly you answers the phone. You then are sitting in your own studio, instead of making beats you are talking on the phone. Before you know it you start falling asleep and no beats are made! You get the picture. This happens to all of us at one point or another in time. Some of us it happens on a more consistent basis. So that is why i made this video for you to help give you some insight as to what to do, when life sometimes gets in your way, and you are unable to make any beats. So follow my suggestions in the video and i hope you...

the original edm bands from back in the day

What happened to the original  edm pioneers. Growing up in the 70s and 80s I was a product of mtv and was into the underground club scene.Though I started out in the school band and playing instruments, then led to djing, and mix tapes  ,break dancing the whole nine you name it,I was doing it. For quite a while I was into freestyle in the 80s. Then all of the sudden something came over me and I just fell in love with  techno for some reason and of course the progressive house/trance movement in the middle to late nineties. I used to be a clubkid I would go to all the clubs  from limelight, tunnel, sound factory, tequila Joes, loop lounge, shelter, temptations,Bahama mamas, lana lounge just to name a few as you can see I pretty much a club kid. I think I was the only guy in the club who was not high as I only went there for the music and to dance! Sure guys came up to me and asked me if I needed anything but ,I just said no! The music was my high Rea...
