You should be using  Phrygian mode to make your techno beats.   Hey people i have been seeing lots of newbies online make track after track in the same key. Same scale, same chord progression. You have to get out off that same old rut of doing things the same things all the time. After a while your music will be boring and pretty much lifeless.   So i made this video of me making a techno beat in phrygian mode to show you what you can do when you think outside the box. When you get away from the normal natural minor and natural major scales and reach outside the box you just may actually learn something, and most of all breathe new life into your music.   So watch the video below.   We all like to hear a good song whether its a rock song, edm song or classical music. One thing is certain each memorable song we love to sing along to in the car or hum at the mall or at work. Maybe a song got stuck in your head while driving to work and you have been thinking about that same song all day long. Maybe you were at a underground club and heard some of the best trance songs in your life. You then go home  but, there is this one song that still has been playing over and over in your head.  Repetition Why does this happen it happens because of  repetition. In music composers utilize many forms of repetition and variations of repetition to get the listener hooked to a song and it works. Once you are hooked to the song you want to buy the album,the single you buy future albums.Eventually you fall in love with the  band and see them in concert. Better yet your song that you produce goes viral and you sell multiple copies or back then you'd go platinum. Now

With everyone sheltering in place and it seems as though there is nothing to do. There is something to do. You can DJ.  I made this short video for newbies who never have even mixed before with Ableton. You may have thought it was for something else. Maybe you thought it was just for mashups or doing remixes or producing or whatever. I am here to tell you it is just as perfect for doing your DJ sets. Or Djing parties when the quarantine is lifted.                                  Newbies need help too The video is for newbies only. How to program emotional progressive house music.   Learning to program is one thing. Programming beats for your daw is another thing. Remember you want to produce with no time to learn. You want to produce on your own terms. Maybe you want to learn as you go. Emotion  This is where the fun begins. Lets say you want to produce happy trance or happy hardcore. Most of that music will have an happy progression always but most of the time up! Up in a upward promotion.Most likely it will have mostly Major chords. Why because when you go up on the scale it turns  sounds  (the emotion)  into a whole new world. It makes them  sound  happy.  Try it yourself make a riff of 8 bars and make it go up and loop it and you will feel happy!
